CLASP feature on BBC Pipeline – 24th March 2018

On Saturday, 24th March, Pipeline will run a feature on the CLASP, which includes performances from past and present CLASP members, Ross McNaughton, Stewart Gaudin, Derek Midgley, Peter McCalister and Douglas Gardiner.

Congratulations to CLASP member, Robert Wilson, on winning the AKQ for 2018. Also in the prizes were fellow CLASP members,  Gregor McCulloch (2nd place) Stewart Gaudin (3rd place) and Helen Thomson (4th place)

Holding statement regarding the recent rule change.

This rule is being reviewed to take account of the variety of circumstances which prevail outside the UK. However, the rule for the UK based members remains and CLASP members outside of the UK should not alter previously arranged competition plans to compete outside of the UK.

Date set for CLASP Weekend Workshop 2018

The CLASP workshop weekend will run over two days, 5th and 6th October, 2018. The venue will be the National Piping Centre and the course will run from 9am -5pm (approximately) each day. Some of the course content will include tuning, Piobaireachd and Light Music. This course is tailor made for any aspiring adult competing pipers. Stay tuned for more course information.

Please note there are two venues for Saturday, 13th January, CLASP competition. These are a 10 minute walk from each other. Grade 3 and Grade 1 events will run at the Scots Guards Club, 2 Clifton Terrace, Edinburgh, EH12 5DR, (Opposite Haymarket Train Station).

Grade 2 events will be held in the Royal Scottish Pipers Association rooms, which is located on 127 Rose Street Lane South, Edinburgh, EH2 4BB.

Starting time will be 10am and the prize giving will commence at the Scots Guards Club once all events have finished.

Entries now open for Scots Guards Club and RSPS Edinburgh CLASP Competition 2018

Entries are now open for  the first CLASP competition of 2018 at the Scots Guards Club and RSPS,  Edinburgh.

Both venues are very close to each other and very central for anyone travelling by train. Haymarket train station is just across the road from the Scots Guards Club (2 Clifton Terrace, Edinburgh EH12 5DR)
