About Patricia:
Patricia is originally from Aberdeen, starting piping when she was 8 years old. Her first tutor, Sandy Robertson of The Bon-Accord Ladies Pipe Band introduced her to Bob Nicol where she received Piobaireachd tuition for many years, thereafter continuing with her husband Murray.

A pioneer for female solo competitors, she was one of the first females to compete at the Argyllshire Gathering and Northern Meeting in 1977, following the passing of the Sex Discrimination Act by the UK government. She was the first female to be placed, with prizes in the Gold Medal at the Northern Meeting in 1978 & 1979.

She is an active tutor with great success. Silver Medal at the Argyllshire Gathering, and helping her daughter Faye win the Gold Medal at the Argyllshire Gathering in 2010. She has taught in Australia, Brittany, New Zealand and America.

Patricia is a member of the Solo Piping Judges Association, and as a senior piobaireachd judge since 2013, has adjudicated at most elite events including the Gold Clasp (Northern Meeting), Senior Piobaireachd (Argyllshire Gathering) and Glenfiddich Championship.

Her proudest moment was supporting her daughters Fiona and Faye who both qualified for the 2010 Glenfiddich Fiddle and Piping Championships.
